Anime is Japanese animation if you were ever wondering. Now don't get me wrong, you may think "animation is for kids". Although anime is animation it is not for kids. Believe it or not there is a lot of anime that is suited for adults. So don't go all out prejudice on this stuff. Why don't you give it a try? The ones I like are Sailor Moon(the US version is kiddish yet cute), Fushigi Yuugi(middle of the road), and Tenchi Muyo(middle of the road). My fav is Fushigi Yuugi because it is mature yet comic and romantic. You can get anime at some video stores such as Blockbuster..they have Tenchi Muyo. I suggest you try them before making up your mind.

That's right Animania, a club at U of M, offers free anime screenings for the public at the foreign language auditorium. The anime is subtitled in English and is spoken in Japanese.
